Upholstery Stain Removal Tips
When a spill or stain occurs on your fabric upholstery, you should first identify your fabric’s cleaning
code (W, S, WS or X). This information may be found under a cushion, on the bottom of the furniture or
on the manufacturer’s tag. If you can’t find the cleaning code, contact your furniture store sales associate.
To learn more about cleaning codes visit the cleaning code page. For all cleaning codes, you may safely use the following steps to clean up a spill or spot:
- Vacuum, scoop, or gently brush away any loose dirt or other particles.
- Quickly blot up stains or spills with an absorbent cloth, white paper towels or a sponge.
- Gentle blotting often will remove all traces of the stain, but if the stain cannot be removed completely,
use the appropriate spot cleaning technique, as dictated by your upholstery’s cleaning code.
